My husband will be celebrating his birthday soon, so it is time I started thinking about his card. One of the items on his "Bucket List" is take a hot air balloon ride, so using my new Stampin' Up stamp/ die bundle, Lift Me Up , will be perfect.
I made my first card using this bundle at a stamp camp hosted by the dynamic duo, Dar Peterson and Luci Kirschbaum. I thank Luci for the inspiration from her card design as a jumping off point for mine.
To start my card, I wanted my clouds to be lightly glittered, so I used spray adhesive on white cardstock and sprinkled with ultra fine white glitter, tapped off, and let dry. Then, I was able to treat it just like any commercial glitter paper. I used a commercial lightly glitter golden yellow glitter paper for my sun, and used SU's Seaside embossing folder to give my sky some texture. Then, the "glitter bug" got a hold of me, and I added Wink of Stella-Clear to my clouds, giving them some gray tones, which I loved. Then, I added "Wink" to my sun to make it a bit more shiny and to my balloon outline as well! I think my husband will be pleased with birthday card featuring his very own hot air balloon.
My traditional final step to completing my cards is to create an inside design that is complimentary to my card front and compose a verse that fits the card's occasion...in this case, a birthday! Take a peek at my finished inside card design.
